It all began when I was 14 years old. That’’s when I was first exposed to Chiropractic and its true purpose. As a child and young adult, I suffered from chronic tonsillitis, living on antibiotics every few months. I was actually scheduled to have my tonsils removed. Fortunately, I was sick and they canceled the surgery. I say " fortunately" because the body works better with all its original parts.
Subsequently, I had occasion to make an appointment with a Chiropractor for back pain, quickly I realized it was bigger than that.
The Chiropractor explained the spine protects the master system, the nervous system which is responsible for controlling the entire body. The nervous system controls and coordinates all the organs, muscles, tissues, cells and glands. That's correct. Every function is controlled by the nervous system. He went on to explain that problems develop in the spine for many reasons, from neglect, a simple fall or accident. These problems are called "subluxations." They are "misalignments" that will not only irritate the nerves in the spine creating symptoms, such as neck pain, arm pain, back pain, etc., but more importantly the function of nervous system will be impaired. This may result in ill health. That's correct, One's health and well being will be at stake. From that day forth, I was done with conventional care and never took an antibiotic again.
In Jan 1979 I enrolled at National College of Chiropractic to begin my life's work. In Dec. 1982, I graduated. On April 1st, 1983, I founded Cicero Chiropractic.
At that time I had a vision. I used it to write what has become the mission statement for Cicero Chiropractic: "The mission, purpose, and goal of Cicero Chiropractic is to support as many people as possible in their quest to regain their health and educate them about the benefits of Chiropractic, so they may in turn educate others, thus creating a healthier planet."
Since April 1st, 1983, more than 10,000 people of all ages from infants to the elderly have come through my door seeking care. Cicero Chiropractic is known as a place where people come for all their health care needs.
Since its discovery on Sept 18, 1895, Chiropractic has stood the test of time to become the world's largest drugless healing art. Victor Hugo said "There is nothing more powerful than an idea who's time has come."
